Sales were 4.4% lower than\u00a0in\u00a0January 2025,\u00a0representing the slowest pace since December 2023 and the largest monthly drop since February 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saying that \u201cthe movement is not happening\u201d and \u201cAmericans are stuck\u201d, NAR Chief Economist, Lawrence Yun, said that high home prices, faltering supply and weaker consumer confidence continue to impact the market. \u201cAffordability conditions are improving,\u201d he said in his report, \u201chowever, supply has not kept pace and remains quite low.\u201d In more positive news for the professional moving industry, home sales\u00a0continue to be strongest on the higher end of the market, with homes valued from US$1 million up being the only area of growth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The challenges in the housing market in the United States continue to affect the moving industry as sales of previously owned homes in January fell more widely-than expected.
